The Busia Institute for Rural and Democratic Development (BIRDD) shares its vision, mission, and values with a number of international institutions dedicated to democratic governance, civic responsibility, and values-based leadership. In line with this, BIRDD engages actively in global policy and leadership networks to strengthen its research, policy, and civic education initiatives across Ghana and Africa.In keeping with this alignment, BIRDD engages actively in global policy and leadership networks. Notably, in 2025, the Executive Director of the Institute represented BIRDD at the International Democrat Union (IDU) Forum held in Brussels, Belgium, affirming the Institute’s growing international presence and commitment to transnational dialogue on democratic development.
