Executive Leadership is responsible for the Institute’s administration, research agenda, programme delivery, publications, partnerships, financial stewardship and institutional development. It translates BIRDD’s mission into practical work and remains accountable for the standards, integrity and public representation of the Institute.

Dr Anane Agyei leads BIRDD’s research, publications, strategic partnerships and programme development. His work spans democratic governance, leadership studies, public policy, historical documentation, cultural heritage, rural development and international engagement. Through scholarship, public education and institutional collaboration, he seeks to strengthen informed citizenship and contribute to sustainable national development.

Richard A. AfranieCoordinator for Programmes and External Affairs

Richard Agyei Afranie is the Coordinator for Programmes and External Affairs at the Busia Institute for Rural and Democratic Development, where he leads the development and coordination of programmes, strategic partnerships, stakeholder engagement, and the Institute’s external relations.
