H.E. John Agyekum Kufuor served as President of the Republic of Ghana from 2001 to 2009. A lawyer, parliamentarian and distinguished African statesman, he also chaired the Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government and the African Union. His public service has centred on democratic governance, peace, economic development and African cooperation. As Life Patron of BIRDD, he provides moral leadership, institutional counsel and an enduring link to the Danquah–Busia–Dombo political tradition.
